It’s Back!
January 27, 2009 by Steve Elledge
The good old Wyoming wind is back with a vengence. Add to that a goodly amount of snow, mix vigorously, and you get a good old fashioned ground blizzard. We are taking it broadside this evening. There is not a doubt in my mind that I will have to dig out in the morning. The only mystery is how deep will the drift be across the driveway? Luckily no travel plans until Thursday and then its just down the road a piece to Glenrock. Of course that could be a tough 20 miles if this stuff continues.
I came home at noon today and worked from here this afternoon because i chose the option of being “snowed in” rather than “snowed out”. Went up to the mall this afternoon and traded in my partially working PS-2 on a refurbished one. Works alot better now and actually boots up when it is supposed to. Like I need a PS-2 eh? Oh well – relaxes me and is quite a bit better than television. I can only take so much Bachelor and American Idol ….. but hey …..one of our channels now has Oprah on 5 nights a week from 9 until 10. That’s enough to make a person puke! How can a person like that be considered entertaining or influential? Seriously? Isn’t that a sad indictment on our populace? It is totally beyond my comprehension.
Going to Anaheim for 4 days to recruit business and work a tradeshow on February 9 – 12. Hope the weather is decent in Southern California that week because i could stand some warm weather. End of February going to Wisconsin and Chicago for workshops & training on restoring old buildings. Sound exciting? Actually is pretty interesting.
Well, after 10 years as a Lone Ranger in the casper office of the Business council i finally hired an Administrative Assistant. Still not absolutely sure i need one but she starts next Tuesday so i hope i do. Only 30 hours a week to start – gotta ease into this stuff.
Will be nice to have the help but one more headcount to worry about. That brings my Division to 8. Six of them are a piece of cake to manage because they are elsewhere in the State – good self starters and very responsible and require minimum nursemaiding. Hope i chose well and this lady turns out to be the same. We’ll see.
Vic & I were surfing for a bargain on one of those “All – Inclusive” resorts – thinking of flying there somewhere around our anniversary – late Feb or early March. Those places are expensive and so is airfare. Probably opt to have the house painted this summer instead. Somehow doesn’t seem like an even tradeoff but you gotta do what you gotta do. Our Obama “change” check hasn’t arrived yet! Hope it gets here soon man …… he promised!
Going to go lay in bed and listen to the wind blow until morning. Then get up and dig out. Gotta love it!
Peace & Love & God’s Grace on all of you -
The Dad
